Pet Insurance Review: An independent review of pet insurance plans that allows you to compare plans and reviews of multiple pet insurance companies. At Sunset Veterinary Hospital, we require payment in full at time of service and will fill out the appropriate pet insurance forms. You will then need to send those forms to your pet insurance company for reimbursement. We do not accept payment from the pet insurance company themselves.

ASPCA Pet Poison Control : A fully searchable guide to poisonous plants. Check here if you're planning on doing some gardening or bringing home a bouquet.
Sirius Dog Training: This dog training service, started by a veterinarian, offers classes throughout the Bay Area, including classes at Stonestown Mall. The program uses positive reenforcement techniques to train your dog (and you!) to be the best pair possible.

Books We Like
Feed Your Pet Right by Marion Nestle and Malden Nesheim. A non-biased review of just about every aspect of the pet food industry. This book covers nutritional requirements, how pet food is produced, how to read labels, and alternative diets in an easy-to-read format.
How to Behave so Your Dog Behaves by Sophia Yin, DVM. As mentioned above, Dr. Yin is a veterinarian and behaviorist located in San Francisco. This book covers the basics of training your dog and common behavior problems. Each chapter leads you through the steps for dog training from walking nicely on a leash to sit, down and stay.
The Other End of the Leash by Patricia McConnell. This is another good review of the basics of dog psychology and how training is affected by how we communicate with dogs. An easy read that will take you into the minds of dogs and get them to work for you in a happy, healthy relationship.
